About Steve

Steve Yellen is a seasoned technology marketing leader whose professional career has spanned pricing strategy, product marketing and executive leadership across a wide range of technology-driven companies. With more than 25 years of experience guiding both startups and global enterprises, Steve has built a reputation for turning complex challenges into transformative results.

An engineer by training, Steve holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Connecticut.

In 2019, at age 55, Steve was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Rather than allowing the diagnosis to define what he could or could not do, he took a proactive approach—turning to research, data, exercise and personal experimentation to better understand how to live well with the disease.

​

Exercise quickly became a central part of that approach. Steve trains regularly and has competed in triathlons, Spartan and other obstacle-course events and the Empire State Building Stair Climb. These experiences have reinforced his belief in the importance of goal-setting, self-efficacy and continuing to challenge yourself regardless of a Parkinson’s diagnosis.

Today, Steve is deeply involved in the Parkinson’s community through advocacy, research, speaking and community outreach. He serves as a Parkinson's Foundation Ambassador and Research Advocate, PMD Alliance Ambassador and Michael J. Fox Foundation Policy Program Leader. He has spoken to support groups and organizations across the country and has served as a keynote speaker at Parkinson’s fundraisers and symposiums.

Steve is also the author of Living Parkinson’s, a practical guide built around seven strategies for living an active, purposeful and fulfilling life with Parkinson’s. The book was the #1 New Release in the Parkinson’s Disease category on Amazon for its entire first month and has since sold more than 2,000 copies in 11 countries. Through the book, his speaking, and his advocacy, Steve shares the message that a Parkinson’s diagnosis doesn't have to define what is still possible.

Steve lives in Connecticut and continues to promote the Living Parkinson’s message through speaking, writing, advocacy and community engagement.
